Gudhjem Hostel
Description
Gudhjem Hostel is one of the oldest hostels in Denmark, but appears today as a modern hostel with all the necessary facilities. The hostel's history and charming spirit have been preserved with small living rooms, half-timbered walls, beamed ceilings and cosy rooms.
Gudhjem is (in our opinion) the east coast's most charming fishing village. The town is also known as the Bornholm mountain town as it - as the only one on the island - is completely surrounded by the high cliffs. The harbour, blasted out of the rocks, is just 50 meters from the hostel, and the town's shops, restaurants and bars are right outside the front door. The houses in Gudhjem are close together and are built right into the bedrock, many with distinct terraced gardens shaped by rocks and nature.
The hostel's rooms are small, simple and bright and can accommodate between 2 and 12 people. The rooms are distributed on the ground floor and first floor. Shared shower and toilet facilities are located on the ground floor and first floor of the main building. Some rooms have a sea view while others have a view of the harbour or the charming streets of Gudhjem.
Gudhjem has a number of good facilities such as:
• Shared kitchen, fully equipped
• Café with snacks and sandwices as well as hot and cold drinks
• Large outdoor terrace
• Social areas with space for relaxing, reading and board games
Breakfast is served in the café from 8.30 to 10.30 every morning. Please note that breakfast must be booked the day before and can be booked via the reception at the hostel.
